The Martin Realty Group Scholarship has grown immensely since it started three years ago, starting with four students the first year, eight last year, and 55 this year in 2020! We are delighted for the interest, participation, and growth to make a larger difference in the community.

This was an outstanding and impressive group of incredible students. The scholarship decision was highly competitive and extremely difficult, taking three rounds of judging by seven judges. Students submitted an essay answering the prompt “What does home mean to you,” along with a resume, transcript, and two letters of recommendation.

Because it was so competitive, the decision of winners was based on each student’s outstanding school and community work, service, and leadership, as well as awards, character, hard work, fantastic grades, high level of academics, and most importantly, their essay. Winners’ essays answered the prompt clearly, were well-written, and were interesting, captivating, inspiring, and unique.

The scholarship winners from the previous two years were presented the scholarship and check at their schools’ senior awards ceremony. However, due to COVID-19, this year’s scholarship presentation was required to change. On Wednesday, May 6, 2020, representatives from Martin Realty Group had a blast surprising the top three winners on their front porch with broker and owner, Shana Martin, presenting the scholarship check to each winner! Congratulations to:

  • 1st place: Sachi Kishinchandani (Carroll Senior High School)
  • 2nd place: Hannah Klapprodt (Eaton High School)
  • 3rd place: Brianna Phelps (Grapevine High School)

We look forward to awarding more Martin Realty Group Scholarships next year. Watch for the opportunity to submit applications at the beginning of 2021!
