It’s Fall Y’all!! Here in North Texas, that means it’s a little less hot, so it’s time to get the family outside for all the fun Fall events our hometown has to offer! We wanted to make it easy for our friends this year, so we’ve compiled a list of fun things to do right here!
Let’s start off with some places that will have you making new family traditions. Both Hall’s Pumpkin Farm and the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch are great places to take your kiddos. I’ve personally taken mine to both and she loved them. At Hall’s you’ve got plenty of places for photo ops, a corn maze, hayrides and of course a ton of great pumpkins. At the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch, you also have plenty of great places to take pictures and do hayrides and a maze, but there are also bounce houses, a playground and tables for picnics. Last year we also got a coupon with our pumpkins that helped us save on the Christmas tree we got there in Nov.
Another great pumpkin-filled place this time of the year is the Dallas Arboretum. Autumn at the Arboretum is absolutely worth the drive. The kids can run free and burn off some energy while you enjoy a stunning setting. This year they’ll have 90,000 pumpkins and more than 150,000 fall flowers setup with a Wizard of Oz theme.
From the arboretum to animals, you’ll want to be sure to check out The Fort Worth Zoo’s Boo at the Zoo. This event only runs for three days, but it’s so much fun! Your little ones can dress up in their costumes and trick or treat while still seeing all their favorites like the baby elephants, giraffes, and gorilla!
For the older kids and those who are braver than me, we’ve got plenty of great (so I’m told) haunted houses. The two with the best reviews are Moxley Manor and Hangmans. I’m personally more of a ghost tour kind of gal and Fort Worth does have a fantastic one. The Stockyards Ghost Tour is year round, but especially spooky around Halloween.
Of course, here in Texas you can’t mention Fall without the biggest event of the year, The State Fair of Texas. It is currently underway so you can play on the midway, see the livestock exhibits and most importantly curb that corney dog craving and check out (among all the other foods you’re sure to try) the 2017 Big Tex Choice Award Winners you see below.
Finally, if the change in season has you fast forwarding to the holidays, check out Christmas in Cowtown It’s a great way to get a jump start on your gift buying! Speaking of holidays, stay tuned! We’ll be announcing the details of our annual Cookies with Santa, Shana Martin Team Christmas Party very soon and I can tell you, we’re already excited!
